Hi all! My name is Andrew McAleavey, and I'm the new ODPA board president, taking over from Euan Fernsler.

I'm pleased to report that during the recent members’ and directors’ meetings held in June, Mary Ann Botner, Linda Krantz, Bruce Max Feldmann, and Henry Clarence were all re-elected to new terms on the Board of Directors. Additionally, I was elected to a full term after spending the last few months serving out the term of Simone Brant, who resigned from the Board.

There are two new additions to the Board as well, although both are familiar faces around the park: Joe Goglio, who's been instrumental in our recent efforts to refurbish and replace the Ohlone Dog Park picnic tables, was elected to the Board, as was Linda Goglio. With the new additions and returning directors, the 2011-2012 slate of directors is:

• Treasurer: Mary Ann Botner
• Linda Krantz
• Bruce Max Feldmann
• Henry Clarence

As Vice-President, Joe will be our primary liaison between the association and the City of Berkeley as they continue to plan and slowly execute an overhaul of the park.

At this point, we plan to continue our efforts to refurbish and replace the old picnic tables. In addition, we continue to advocate for additional and better garbage cans, changes to how the garbage cans are placed, and better park maintenance. We also plan to continue our educational efforts with dog training classes and educational materials.

In addition, one of my personal priorities is on membership, and on recognizing and thanking those of you who've continued to support ODPA and the dog park through the years. All of us on the Board appreciate your support and efforts. I'd especially like to offer my personal thanks to Euan and Tim McGraw for all they've done and continue to do. See you all at the park!
